Loved spending time with this bunch Liam, Jack, Matilda, Matthew, & Max. Oh and Elaine and Jason! They drove all the way from Houston to come for photos and went back the same day. We “explored” all around and I listened to stories about the legend of zelda and heard about what their favorite books are. And we discovered that the lilly pads in our pond do not hold 7 year old little boys! Thank goodness I didn’t see this happen, I would have flipped out. I take turns taking each kid off to do their individuals, so after Liam’s (the 7 year old) individuals I brought him back to meet his mom and dad and took Jack with me. Well why doing Jack’s photos, Liam decides to test out the lilly pads himself because he couldn’t find a stick. Thank goodness the pond is shallow, his mom said “oh it’s okay if it wasn’t he knows how to swim”. She was happy he had already done his individual photos so he was done. I was warned that we may not get many group photos because Matthew would not want to sit still. She said he will probably try to go give you  hugs instead, and that’s exactly what he did!

This was them in the fall of 2010, I was happy I got to meet the new addition! Can’t wait to see the next year and a half 😉

Seth ~ Kinder High Senior

April 14th, 2012

So Seth’s dad called me to book  his session. He said “I know I waited late to call, but Seth does not want to take photos, he only wants a few with his ball jerseys”. I said that’s fine, I can get a few for him, it won’t take us long. Well he showed up […]

I said that’s fine, I can get a few for him, it won’t take us long. Well he showed up with a few shirts and said we don’t have to do all of them, what ever you think. So I told him we would do a few in each, well I think someone actually enjoyed his senior session. By the end he was coming up with ideas on his own and spotting locations he wanted to use. I photographed his sister for her senior session a few years ago, and I do believe he will have about as many photos to try to weed through. We got everything from super serious, to the smirk, to laughing, to him sticking his tongue out at me!

I took the end of the week off to have fun with my kids last week since they were out of school, but I’m back at it today. You guys will be getting calls or emails soon with links and password information to view your photos.

Katelyn is another senior at Lacassine, I’ve enjoyed working with her over the years when I photographed homecoming court. I also had the opportunity to photograph her brother’s senior portraits last year. I will miss not seeing her there next year when I go to Lacassine.

Cade ~ Welsh High Senior

April 2nd, 2012

I have learned the secret to getting a high school guy to smile and I mean really smile….just get his girlfriend to stand behind the camera. Cade likes his serious pictures, but he has a great smile, and when his girlfriend was behind me he couldn’t stop smiling! And he broke out a few supermodel […]

And he broke out a few supermodel poses too, and I warned him if I got it, it was going on the blog.

I don’t even know where to begin with this session. We had so many laughs. I’ve known Hannah forever it seems, they have gone to church with us since Hannah was a baby, she worked with me her senior year, I did her senior photographs, now I get to do her engagements and bridals. We battled lots and lots of mosquitos, I think I took most of them out the photos, but there may be a stray lingering around. I love the personality in these photos, they can try hard but they can not be serious, and I loved capturing it all. Although a few were out of focus because I was laughing at them doing their best to be serious….it just wasn’t happening!

And I’m on a mission to find some “waves”, as Hannah called it, like on the old building down below that was at Hannah’s grandparents house. I’m about to make myself a wall, I loved how it photographed.

Heidi ~ Lacassine High Senior

March 27th, 2012

What fun session this was! I was so excited when Heidi’s mom called to book her senior portraits. I knew they would be great, I’ve worked with Heidi at Lacassine the past few years when I photographed the homecoming court. We had to reschedule because of rain and then reschedule again because the date we […]

I knew they would be great, I’ve worked with Heidi at Lacassine the past few years when I photographed the homecoming court. We had to reschedule because of rain and then reschedule again because the date we moved her session to, we were expecting about 6-10 inches of rain. So we were able to get the session in before the rain, but we had a good deal of wind to deal with. But it works with her long hair, it looked like we had fans blowing on her!

This beautiful little boy was the most alert newborn I have ever photographed. Coming to me at only a week old, I thought he is going to be knocked out from the get go and I can do what ever I want with him. He proved me wrong!! But once I did get him to sleep after all my “tricks” he did let me do as I pleased. Can’t wait until I get to meet his brother and sisters.

Look at that little back, can’t wait until those rolls are all filled out…

Loved the detail in his hands.
